Scholarship Recipient: Bones Tan Jones

Bone's work is a spiritual practice that seeks to present an alternative, queer, optimistic dystopia. They work through ritual, meditating through craft, dancing through the veil betwixt nature and the other.

"The week i spent at the glass foundry made me fall back in love with the process of making art again! after a cruel lockdown, having an opportunity to be in a new environment, so close to nature, with supportive and inspiring artists, to learn a new skill, was so nourishing! Jade and Fiaz allowed us to create freely, while steering us through complex techniques, supporting our ideas with no limits! Our group was curated so well, and I also made a life long friend in a fellow artist. I am so grateful for this scholarship, and I am so excited to keep exploring these techniques and how they will inform my practice further! Endless gratitude."
