Internship Programme 2020-2021

The Glass Foundry Internship Programme is open for applications. This 10-month educational work placement offers successful candidates an opportunity to gain first-hand experience working in a professional glass studio. 

The position is suitable for individuals looking to gain experience in all areas of glass casting and cold work techniques as well as help in the management of gallery exhibitions.

You will be an arts or design graduate with a passion for the medium of glass. You will be expected to work well in a team as well as independently with minimum supervision. Applicants should have a strong work ethic and are expected to be self-motivated. Interns are encouraged to participate and assist in all the courses where possible.

Primary responsibilities -

  • Mould making
  • Cold work and finishing
  • Prep work for workshops
  • Maintenance of machinery
  • Assist in educational events
  • Assist in managing exhibitions

In return, interns will be supported to develop their own artistic vision and the technical skills to achieve that vision.
